There are four Rotary Clubs in the city and one Rotaract Club, all out and about, working hard in your community. Each of the Clubs meet at different times and places across the city and have plenty to offer anyone wanting to help improve the lives of others. All of us are working together to strengthen our impact in the city and raise awareness of the work we do. The newest Rotary Club in the city, Brighton Beachclub, is a flexible combination of in person and virtual meetings which makes participation easier to fit into busy lives!
We are active abroad as well as within the local community. Brighton and Hove Soirée Rotary Club has supported health and education initiatives in Zanzibar for the past 10 years. We are particularly proud of Gasica, one of the local teachers that we have sponsored with continuing professional education. In January 2020 he managed to open his own primary school and now has 110 children enrolled, enjoying the benefits of an education that is significantly better than that on offer in overcrowded government schools. Gasica has made this lovely video to highlight his efforts.
So whether you’re interested in becoming a member, just looking out of interest to see what we get up to or would like to volunteer with us on a community project we would love to hear to hear from you!
