City Rotarians help homeless

Rotarians in Brighton and Hove donated 100 “Goody Bags” to the City’s homeless at St. Peters Church.

The homemade drawstring bags contained useful items such as toiletries for men and women, chocolate, woolly hats and socks.

The bags were given out at the supper kitchen run by David and Linda Boulton, founders of Crossover who support homeless people in the city.

Rotarian Jane Thomson “We spent several weeks making the bags from recycled materials and collecting useful items to make a homeless persons life just a little bit more bearable. They seem to go down well as all were given away. Our thanks go to Brighton Emmaus for their guidance.”

David says: “We do this because we want to be a friendly face to those who fall between the margins. Our mobile kitchen operates on Saturday and Sunday mornings at Morley Street and during the school holidays when St. Peters Church cant give out their hot meals.”
