Hot on the heels of Wrap-Up, which is currently postponed until after the New Year, we are supporting Pelican Parcels with their Christmas collection.

Pelican Parcels are a great local charity who are helping disadvantaged families. Unfortunately, Pelican Parcels cannot collect, but they are happy to accept deliveries of items in the list below from you and your friends in the Brighton & Hove area. Their office is based at 24A Castle Street, BN1 2HD in Central Brighton, easily accessible by train, bus or car. Click here for a map. Donation days this week are Tuesday 24th 11-2, Wednesday 25th November 11-2, and Saturday 28th November 12-4. Final donation opportunity is Monday 2 December 11-2.
All clothes donated can be preloved but need to be freshly laundered and ironed & placed in plastic bags. They should also be sorted by child’s age group, up to 10 years. This is a list of specific items that they currently need :
- Vests all ages
- Socks size 37-40 and bigger
- PJs all ages – particularly 7-10 years boys and girls
- Girls 3-6 month babygrows and vests
- Boys 18-24 months all clothing
- Girls 2-3 years coats, jumpers and PJs
- Girls 4-5 years winter clothes, coats and knickers
- Girls 3-4 years winter clothing and knickers
- Girls 5-6 years winter clothing and coats
- Girls 6-7 years jumpers
- Boys 9-10 years winter clothing and coats
- Girls 10-11 years winter clothing and coats
- Universal rain covers for buggies
Sadly, they can’t accept other types of children’s clothing at the moment due to Covid-19 related storage issues. If you have items that aren’t on this list a charity shop will appreciate them after lockdown ends.
Please email them at ‘pelicanparcels@outlook.com‘ to arrange a delivery, and feel free to share this campaign with anyone, as our Rotary club is very keen to help promote them with so many local families facing problems this Winter.
On their Christmas webpage they have an Amazon Secret Santa list where presents can be ordered and delivered directly to them. Alternatively you can make a cash donation that will be very gratefully received, as your gift will contribute towards buying items like mattresses, that cannot be reused, and high request items such as baby formula and nappies.
UPDATE – We have had further clarification from Pelican Parcels about an urgent need for Christmas presents for children up to age 10. They especially want new & unused clothes, games, books and toys, but no or cuddly toys or anything requiring batteries.

Thank you for all the support as always.
